A Louisville staple for more than five decades will be auctioning off its products before closing its doors, according to our media partner, Louisville Business First. Joe Ley Antiques Inc. has hired Louisville-based Wardlow Auctions Inc. to liquidate its remaining inventory in a phased online auction that will take place over the next several months. The first phase of the auction will be online before Thanksgiving, and updates will be posted at the Wardlow Auctions website.Joe Ley Antiques has been in business for 56 years in a converted three-story 1890 schoolhouse. The store’s owner, Joe Ley, listed the property at 615 and 625 E. Market St. for sale earlier this year at just under $5 million. The store is spread across more than 42,000 square feet in three buildings.
