Do you have antiques or collectibles you wouldn’t mind parting with?
There might be no better time to consider it, now that “American Pickers” — a reality TV show where “pickers” Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz travel across the country searching for aging treasures — is coming to Texas.
“The show is planning to film in Texas this winter, but we have not set any specific locations in the state yet as the hosts are still looking for people in the area with unique antique collections and interesting stories behind them,” said Evan Linden, with “American Pickers.”
That’s why workers with the show are asking Texans with “large, rare collections & things they’ve never seen before” to reach out to them so the Pickers potentially can check out their antiques.
Wolfe and Fritz will travel across the state in January looking for unique collections to check out for their documentary series, which airs on the History Channel.
“As they hit the back roads from coast to coast, Mike and Frank are on a mission to recycle and reuse forgotten relics,” according to a statement from the show.
“Along the way, the Pickers want to meet characters with remarkable and exceptional items.
“The pair hopes to give historically significant objects a new lease on life, while learning a thing or two about America’s past along the way.”
The show is asking any Texan with a “large, private collection or accumulation of antiques that the Pickers can spend the better part of the day looking through” to email email@example.com, post a message on their Facebook page @GotAPick or call and leave a voicemail at 1-855-OLD-RUST.
The show asks that you leave them your name, location, phone number and a description of the items you have that might be available with photos.
Note: Mike and Frank only pick private collections so “NO stores, malls, flea markets, museums, auctions, businesses or anything open to the public,” according to the posting.
